Sun Prairie Public Library Wireless Use Policy

I.            Purpose
The purpose of the policy is to set forth provisions for wireless access in the library.

 

II.          Use

  • Patrons using wireless access must adhere to the Internet/Computer Policy.
  • Wireless access is available only during library operating hours.
  • Wireless access may be inaccessible in certain areas of the building.
  • Wireless access is not secure. 
  • Users are responsible for their own connection to the library’s wireless network.  Staff is not available to assist patrons in connecting their devices to the network.
  • Printing from the wireless network is not available.
  • Power cords must not obstruct walkways.
  • Wired carrels are reserved for patrons using Ethernet connectivity.
  • Limited bandwidth places restrictions on the tasks users can perform with wireless devices.

 

III.         Unacceptable Uses of Wireless Access

The library’s wireless access may be used only for legal purposes.  Unacceptable use is outlined in the Internet/Computer Policy.

 

IV.          Misuse of Wireless
Misuse of wireless access may result in loss of library privileges.  (See Sun Prairie Public Library Conduct Policy.)  Illegal uses of computers may also be subject to prosecution by local, state or federal authorities.
